My husband and I both agree it has atmosphere that gives a feeling of the past, an intimacy that is lacking in other cinemas. Staff are friendly, and seats are comfy. Our favourite cinema.
How did we miss this cinema...definitely a wow cinema! We are told it was built 30 years ago as a reminder to the good old days. A great cinema to watch Top Gun 2 and now we can't wait to see Elvis movie there. The screen is new and huge and the sound is clear and just the right decibels to sit at the front which we love to do to feel the action. The staff are all lovely people who help to make the whole atmosphere a true art Deco experience. There is even a dress code men have to wear a shirt! I highly recommend checking this amazing cinema...not to be missed on your travels to Townsville!
Fantastic theatre well looked after and spotlessly clean. I'm being very harsh here...although the seats are very comfortable with good leg room..they are not the lay back type. Like I said..I'm being very harsh...don't let that put you off. They have great movies that you might not find in mainstream theatre's. I also agree with a previous post...the sound is not as good as it should.
Such nice people. Walked us to our cinema number and opened the door. Kind of retro but in the best way possible. Really nice aesthetic. Would definitely go again. Not busy at all on a Sunday arvo. No head rests on the seat though.
Up here with my partner for a holidays and family catch up.My partners cousin took us to the cinemas to show how they have been restored and updated a real treat. The guys that own it are a couple of characters again that friendly NQ personalities shining through. They have a small 80 seat theatre which I thought was very quaint can't wait to take my partner and do some old fashioned smooching lol .They show the latest releases in Dolby Digital as well as classics If your looking for something different to do you couldn't go wrong sneak in a bite at Otto's it's around the corner then catch a great movie either classic air blockbuster
The place was spotless. Gorgeous theatre BUT the sound in the cinema wasn't good enough for a movie experience. Could hear everyone crunching on their popcorn. The two security guards checking bags on the way in were rude and intimidating.
